Product Introduction
What Is Beta carotene oil?
Beta-Carotene Oil is a reddish-brown liquid and manufactured by fermentation technology. beta-carotene is obtained by a fermentation process using a mixed culture of the two sexual mating types(+) and (-) of natural strains of the fungus Blakeslea Trispora. The crystallised product consists mainly of trans beta-carotene. Because of the natural process, approximately 3% of the product consists of mixed carotenoids. The micronized beta-carotene crystalloids are evenly dispersed in sunflower oil and all-rac-α-Tocopherol is added as an antioxidant.
The characteristics of beta-carotene oil include its deep-orange to red color, insolubility in water, and solubility in fats and oils. It is a powerful antioxidant commonly used as a food colorant and nutritional supplement, particularly due to its pro-vitamin A activity.
The production of beta-carotene oil involves extraction and purification methods to obtain a concentrated form of the pigment. Typically, the microalgae are cultivated and harvested to obtain the beta-carotene-rich biomass. The concentrated pigment is then extracted using solvent extraction or supercritical fluid extraction methods. After extraction, the oil is typically purified through filtration or chromatography to remove impurities and obtain a high-quality beta-carotene oil product. Email:info@yanggebiotech.com

Beta carotene oil Health Benefits
Beta carotene functions as an antioxidant, aiding in the reduction of oxidative stress, potentially preventing conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases caused by free radicals.
1. Through its conversion into vitamin A, beta carotene promotes eye health by helping prevent infections, night blindness, dry eyes, and possibly age-related macular degeneration.
2. The long-term use of beta-carotene supplements may improve cognitive function, although shorter-term use does not appear to have the same effect.
3. While beta carotene may offer some protection against sun damage and pollution to the skin, excessive intake can lead to health problems, and it is therefore not typically recommended for sun protection.
4. Consuming beta carotene-rich foods may contribute to a lower risk of certain cancers, although the relationship between beta carotene and cancer prevention remains complex and not fully understood.
5. Proper intake of beta carotene is important for lung health, as vitamin A deficiency may contribute to the development or worsening of certain lung diseases, although taking beta carotene supplements may increase the risk of lung cancer in smokers.
Beta carotene oil Applications
1. Nutraceuticals & Dietary Supplements
Beta carotene liquid used as a natural source of β-carotene (provitamin A) for immune support, vision health, and antioxidant formulations. Incorporated into softgels, capsules, or liquid supplements for enhanced bioavailability.
2. Functional Food & Beverages
Added to juices, dairy products, and fortified snacks as a natural colorant (orange-red hue) and nutrient booster. Ideal for clean-label products replacing synthetic dyes (e.g., annatto alternatives).
3. Cosmetic & Skincare Products
Utilized in anti-aging serums, creams, and sunscreens for its antioxidant properties and UV-protection benefits. Enhances skin radiance and supports collagen synthesis in topical formulations.
4. Pharmaceutical Industry
Beta-Carotene Oil serves as a raw material for vitamin A production in medical supplements targeting deficiency-related conditions. Explored in formulations for photoprotective therapies or wound-healing applications.
5. Animal Feed Additives
Added to poultry/pet feed to improve feather/skin pigmentation and boost immune function in livestock.
