What is natural phycocyanin E25?

The aqueous solution of natural phycocyanin is unstable to alkali, and immediately changes from blue to colorless when the pH is above 10. the fake so-called phycocyanine is stable to alkali and does not fade.


Natural phycocyanin is a highly active protein, so high temperature will cause protein inactivation and denaturation, and the color of its aqueous solution will also change from bright blue to dull! The fake so-called phycocyanine solution does not change color under high temperature boiling.


Natural phycocyanin has a special fragrance similar to seaweed, with a slightly fishy smell. The fake so-called phycocyanin is not a protein, but a chemical dye (the specific chemical composition is unknown), which has a strong ink smell.


The natural phycocyanin will produce a cloudy precipitate below PH3, while the fake so-called phycocyanin does not have a cloudy precipitate under the acidic condition of pH3.
